I can see up your nose!

Lat night was a disaster…I must of ripped up the same drawing 4 times. Also, my singing in the shower was off-key.

But tonight all is good! Here are some highlights from tonight’s work:

Adding a splash of white to the colour

While chasing a Letraset marker trying to make a get-away from my desk, I came cross an old white sketching pencil. Why not use it to ad a bit to the teeth and whites-o-eyes of some of my portraits? I think it might also prove useful to express highlights in cheeks and noses on the darker paper…

Selected drawings from an upcoming show

The deal’s been sealed…  I will be showing along with Rebecca Junkin at Utility Gallery in April.

I’m hoping to have a MINIMUM of 150 drawings, but a deeper personal goal of 300 just might be obtainable…I’ve sweetened the deal for myself by promising a whole day of playing SPORE if I succeed.

I’ve always been interested in people’s comments on photographs of themselves. Often great photos of loved ones are met with ‘Uh, I look terrible in that pose.’ And with public forums like Facebook and MySpace, its hard to keep those less than flattering photos hidden. So I decided to draw people in a less than flattering matter.

To my surprize, a lot of my drawings still really resemble the person… or some crazy alter ego.

Many more to come, to say the least!
