As I walked along my beautiful neighborhood after
casting my vote, I became aware of the leaves. And the chimney smoke. And the people who already bought their pumpkins to make the rest of us feel slow. Since I live on the 2nd floor and have a balcony that doesn’t face anywheres important to display real jack-o-lanterns, I thought I’d draw my
own pumpkins. And keep them as my header until it became unfashionable. These ones will never rot either. Unless both my personal and external hard drives
and the internet die.

Two things get me loose and relaxed in life; doodles and red wine. Nothing makes me feel more whole than a great glass of pinot noir, and a quick sketch that becomes a little gem. In this case, it is an reflection of listening to Bonobo, and being influenced by the works of
James White, Cassandre’s
Pivolo print and a tutorial put out by
Abdozeedo.
The end result is something I hope to put out once or twice a week… little vector doodles that challenge me to use Illustrator in ways I don’t at my job. Speaking of work, Happy End of Thanksgiving Weekend.

Time to open up my graphic life as I know it. No more hiding things between sketch books or under unpaid bills. I have spent too much of the last year of my life pushing art to the back of my being to be replaced by beer, junk food and self-exile.
Jerko, to my left here, sums it up pretty nice like.
If I’m to make it in this world wide… world of design, I’ve got to leave a digital paper trail.
And here it is.
May God save your eyeballs.
